Staff members of Speer Funeral Home are caring and experienced professionals who understand that each family is unique and has personal requests and traditions. These requests and traditions are of utmost importance to our staff.
Annette is a fourth generation funeral director, born in Northeastern Iowa. She worked with her family in their funeral homes in Calmar, Fort Atkinson and Decorah during high school and college. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Creighton University and her Associates Degree in Mortuary Science from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. Upon graduation from college Annette served her internship with Geo. M. Wittch-Lewis Funeral Home in Muscatine. She continued working there until 1998, when she and her husband, moved to Aledo. She then became manager of Reiser-Trimble Funeral Home, Aledo. She purchased the business in 2003. Annette is active in the Aledo Rhubarb Fest; Mercer County Farm Bureau; Mercer County 4-H and PEO, Chapter H. Her family is a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church. Annette and her husband, Doyle live on the family farm, south of Aledo with their two daughters, Jenna and Tori.
Doyle was born and raised in the Aledo area. Doyle is a graduate of Aledo High School and Northeast Missouri State University. After working for Kent Feeds in Muscatine for 9 years he came home to operate the family farm in Ohio Grove Township. He also assists at the funeral home with funerals, and visitations and is in charge of maintenance. Doyle is a trustee for Ohio Grove Township; a previous board member for the Mercer County Farm Bureau and has helped coach his daughters softball teams. Doyle and Annette reside on the family farm in Ohio Grove Township and have 2 daughters, Jenna and Tori.
Judy has been with Speer Funeral Home for one year and assists with visitations and funerals. Judy is an active volunteer in the Aledo Community and a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church. Judy and her husband, Gary, live in rural Aledo. They have 3 sons.
