William Charles Hall

William Hall, 82 of Aledo, died peacefully at his home on Thursday, October 25, 2018. Private family services will be held, with burial at a later date in Aledo Cemetery. Bill generously donated his body to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for anatomical research. Memorials in his honor may be directed to the Aledo Fire Department or left at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo.

William Charles was born the oldest child of Hays and Rosalie (Biedermann) Hall on April 17, 1936 in Aledo, Illinois. He graduated from Aledo High School in 1954. He attended Iowa State University and was a member of the United States Army. Bill married Mary Ann Tracy on September 19, 1964 in Aledo, Illinois.

Bill was a partner in the family business, Hall’s Shoe Store for 33 years, before retiring. He was also a volunteer with the Aledo Fire Department for many years, where he served as Captain.

Surviving are his wife: Mary Ann; 3 Children (spouses): Chay Hall of Aledo; Dawn (Mike) Ramey of Yorkville, IL; and Troii (Kerri) Hall of Zionsville, IN; 5 Grandchildren: Matt, Lexi, Caden, Blake, and Kate; 2 brothers: Don (Kathy) Hall of Andalusia; Jerry Hall of Elgin, IL; a sister, Rosie (Dick) Cox of Shingle Springs, CA; 3 step-brothers: Maurice McCutchan; Stephen (Sandy) McCutchan; Tom McCutchan and their families and many nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Bird Hall; an infant brother, Gary and a sister, Marcella Hall Suhs.
