Funeral Services for Wilbur Frieden, 81 of New Boston, are Thursday at 10:00 AM at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo. Burial will be in New Boston Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday from 4 to 8 PM at Speer Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Wilbur Frieden Memorial Fund. Wilbur died on Friday, June 30, 2017 at his home. Wilbur Lee was born on May 7, 1936 in rural New Boston, Illinois to Lester & Blanche Terrill Frieden. He married Beverly Endicott on March 11, 1955 in Aledo. She preceded him in death on November 28, 2006. On April 7, 2008 he married Bonnie Campbell Stead in Woodhull, Illinois. Wilbur was a steward of the land and of the Lord. He dedicated his life to farming and was New Boston Road Commission from 1978 until the present. He was a proud charter member and the Pastor of Grace Chapel, Joy, Illinois. When Wilbur wasn’t working the land, he could be found fabricating or building. He also enjoyed Antique Tractor Pulls and 4-wheeler pulls. He and Bonnie enjoyed their rides in the country side checking on other fields and roads. Those left to cherish Wilbur’s memory include his wife, Bonnie; sons and daughters-in-law: Rex & Carol Frieden of Keithsburg and Dan & Tina Frieden of Joy; Step-children: Gwen & Roy Pritchett of Aledo and Ginger & Kevin Harrison of Hamilton; Siblings and spouses: Randy & Brenda Frieden of Aledo and Florence & Richard Sell of Eliza; Grandchildren and Spouses: Melissa & Jason Roeder; Amanda Frieden, Kiel Frieden, Savannah & Tim Willet and Madison Frieden; Great-Grandchildren: Anthony & Hayden Whitford, Callen Frieden, Cooper Willet, Austin Roeder, Avery Frieden and one lovingly expected in August; Step-grandchildren: Joshua Stead, Sara Terrill, Nicholas Stead, Christopher Vinson, Michelle Cordoba, Trenton Jones, Peter & Lisa Vos, Hans Vos & Ami Lox, Levi & Brandi Vos, Jesse & Valerie Vos, Caleb & Chandell Vos and Marilee VOs and Wade Maynard and step-great-grandchildren: Noah Stead, Olivia Lane, Necia & Owen Vinson, Naomi & Sophia Cordoba, Bryce Vos, Dameon Sanders and Cheyenne & Gracie Vos. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife; brother, Keith; sisters, Alta & Lois and 2 step-sons, Mark & Greg Stead.
