Trudy Ann Kovacic

Trudy Ann Kovacic, 65 of Aledo, died Sunday, November 28, 2021, at OSF St. Joseph Hospital, Bloomington, Illinois. Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00 AM at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo. Services will be livestreamed on the Speer Funeral Home Facebook page. Visitation is Thursday from 4 to 7 PM at the funeral Home. Private family burial will be in the New Windsor Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Churches of Mercer County Food Pantry or the Aledo Jaycee’s for their Christmas Toy Drive. Condolences may be left at speerfuneralhome.com.

Trudy Ann was born on August 15, 1956, in Monmouth, Illinois to Harold & Shirley (Neill) Salmon. She was a graduate of Aledo High School. Trudy was previously married to Steven Kovacic and from this union, 2 children were born, Amy and Shawn. Trudy retired after 37 years in the dietary department of Mercer County Nursing Home, then Genesis Senior Living.

Trudy was a dedicated mother and grandmother who loved to cook for her family, watch movies and go shopping with them. She was a member of the former Open Bible Church of Aledo.

Those left to cherish Trudy’s memory include her children: Amy (Charles) Saunders of Rock Island and Shawn (Dana) Kovacic of New Windsor; Grandchildren: Dylan and Ayva Kovacic and honorary granddaughter, Jayda Carlin; Parents: Harold & Shirley Salmon of Aledo; Siblings: Theresa (Patrick) Beaird of Coal Valley; Tony (Kim) Salmon of Oklahoma; Tina (Lance) McCaw of Aledo and Sam (Leslie) Salmon of Aledo.
