Robert “Bob” Moore, 73 of Aledo died Sunday, April 28, 2024, at his home. Military Honors will be held at 4:00 PM on Thursday, May 2nd at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo. Visitation will follow from 4:30 to 7:00 PM. Private family burial will be in Viola Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Moore family.

Bob was born on March 29, 1951, in Muscatine to Robert “Junior” & Bessie Olive (McCracken) Moore. He was raised by his grandparents, Robert Lee & Gertrude May Moore.   Bob served his country in the United States Air Force in Vietnam as a member of the Military Police.  He married Diana Brace on October 25, 1970, later divorcing. On March 29, 2022, Bob and Janice Bodeen were married.

Bob was a jack of all trades and could work on anything. He was especially talented at Tool & Die, working for CDS in Wilton, Iowa for 14 years, and The Hon Company in Muscatine for 29 years. Bob also loved working on cars, and taking his Harley Tri Glide out for a drive, with no specific destination in mind. His family enjoyed his jokes and his companionship, as did his favorite canine companion, Maggie.

Those left to cherish Bob’s memory include his wife, Janice; Son: Robert “BJ” (Lacey) Moore of Mechanicsville, IA; daughter: Brandy (Rick) Walker of New Boston; step-daughter: Tara Hoftender of Aledo; step-son: Brian (Kristy) Esp of Moline; Grandchildren: Savannah, Alyssa, Caleb; Step-grandchildren: Brody, Aubree, Zach, Caleb, Carter, Taylor, Rylee & Karsen; step-mom: Connie Moore of Muscatine; Siblings: Jane Mosely, James Moore, Theresa Havemann, Ruth Ann Lucas, Rocky (Kathy) Moore, and Ruth Lucas all of Muscatine; Larry Moore of Florida; Pam (Cliff) Skidmore of Wapello; Betsy (Jim) Evans of Cotter, IA and man nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Shannon who was born an angel; brothers, Tommy, Steven & Alan J. Moore and a sister, Shirley.
