Patricia M. Short

Patricia M. Short, 87 of Aledo, formerly of Milan, died Monday, December 9, 2024, at Arcadia Care of Aledo. Private family burial will be held at the Rock Island Arsenal. A celebration of life will be held next summer. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made left at the funeral home to help with expenses.

Patricia was born on March 17, 1937, in Mercer County, Illinois to Sonny & Marye (Beck) David. She married Donald Short on May 4, 1956, in Joy, Illinois. He preceded her in death on January 26, 2021.

Pat was a dedicated Avon Saleswomen for over 46 years. She and Don enjoyed their vacations in Branson and loved going camping. Pat had several favorite sayings, including, “When Hell Freezes Over” and “Ripley’s Believe It or Not”.

Pat is survived by her brother, Neil David of Aledo; 2 grandchildren: Jordan and Lauren and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Roxanne Borkhardt and brothers, Jerry, Robin and Dick David.
