She was a 1946 graduate of Aledo High School, then attended Western Illinois University, then graduated from Marycrest College. Mary and John Lloyd were married on September 10, 1949 in Marston, Illinois. He preceded her in death on August 24, 1996. Mary taught school in Millersburg and for 29 years as the 3rd and 4th grade teacher at the Reynolds Grade School, retiring in 1986. She enjoyed country living, especially the home her and John built together. She spent a lot of time outside gardening and bird watching. Mary shared her love of music by singing in church and for other gatherings. A favorite vacation spot for Mary and John was South Padre. Those left to cherish Mary’s memory include her children: Paul Lloyd of Reynolds; daughter and son-in-law: Ellen & Rev. David Yancy of Dickson, TN; grandchildren: Michelle, Angie & Seth Lloyd of Reynolds and Mary Beth Yancy of Dickson, TN; great-grandchildren: Erik, Abbigale and Chloe Matlick and Nathaniel Paul Lloyd, Jr; and all the Lloyd family. She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Nathaniel Lloyd and a special friend, Wendell Haney.
