Linda Mae Franck was born on July 16, 1940 in Moline, Illinois to Walter & Elsie (Linn) Franck. She married Bernard Bieri in 1958. To this union 4 sons were born. They farmed together until Bernie died in 1992. After his death, Linda continued to run the family farm along with owning Linda’s Flowers & Gift for over 30 years. She later met Herb Bethurem, they married in 2000. They had many fun years together. They enjoyed traveling, dancing and eating out. He preceded Linda in death in 2013. The last few years, Linda had a great friend, Gale Anderson, who was by her side until the end.
For fun, Linda like to work, and expected all others to do the same. If she saw your car in your driveway, she would stop to see why you weren’t at work and expected a good answer. She also enjoyed talking about work, golfing with Gale and playing cards with the girls, a highlight of her week. She always took pride in her work and looking nice. She loved hosting holiday parties and events for her family. Some people say an “an apple a day”, Linda believed in a few CC & waters a day. She remained sharp as a tack until the end. As her favorite song by Willie Nelson says, “It’s something you get through”. She was respected by all and feared by her boys.
Those left to cherish Linda’s memory include her sons and their wives: Steve Bieri; Jeff & Cassie Bieri and Mark & Penny Bieri all of Aledo and Dave & Nancy Bieri of Hamburg, Iowa; special friend, Gale Anderson of Preemption; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; siblings: Eleanor Barnes of Moline and Roger & Nancy Franck of Preemption and many nieces and nephews. She will truly be missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bernard Bieri; second husband, Herb Betherum; a sister, Verna and brother-in-law, James Barnes.
