Funeral Services for LaVon Line, 85 of Seaton, will be Saturday at 10:00 AM at the Center Presbyterian Church, Seaton. Burial will be in the Alexis Cemetery. Visitation is Friday from 4 to 7 PM at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo. Memorials may be made to the Center Presbyterian Church. LaVon died on Monday at Genesis Senior Living, Aledo. LaVon was born on August 2, 1932 in Aledo, Illinois to Stanley & Mildred (Andress) Lundquist. She graduated from Aledo High School and attended Cornell College and Western Illinois University. She married John Line on June 22, 1956 in Aledo at the United Methodist Church. In earlier years, LaVon was employed with Brown Lynch Scott, Aledo and Owen Corning Fiberglass in California. She retired from the United States Postal Service after 18 years at the Alexis Post Office. LaVon was a member of the Center Presbyterian Church and helped in many capacities. She enjoyed boating, especially in the Ozarks; playing cards and was known for her love of animals. There wasn’t a stray she wouldn’t take in. LaVon was an avid reader and devoted Grandma. She cherished the time with her grandchildren and going to their activities. LaVon is survived by her husband, John; children and spouses: Mike & Cindy Line of Dahinda, IL; Greg & Bobbi Jo Line of Hudson, WI; Lori & Randy Metzger of Camp Point, IL and Todd & Joyce Line of Seaton; Grandchildren: Megan & Kent Henry; Zachary Line; Nathan Metzger; Kamren & Hilliary Metzger; Michael & Kristin Metzger and A.J., Dalton & Payton Line. Also surviving are her step-mother, Phyllis Lundquist of Aledo and step-sister, Patsy (Dale) Meyers of Universal City, TX and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
