Isaac "Ike" Roy Long

October 19, 1955 — June 8, 2020

Isaac "Ike" R. Long, 64 of Aledo, died Monday, June 8, 2020 at the VA Medical Center, Iowa City. Graveside services with Military Honors will be held on Friday, June 12th, at 10:00 AM at Leech Cemetery, Buffalo Prairie, IL. Memorials may be made to the Mercer County VFW. Speer Funeral Home is assisting the family and condolences may be left at speerfuneralhome.com. 

 
Ike was born on October 19, 1955 in Monmouth, Illinois to Vernon & Mildred (Stevens) Long. He joined the United States Army and retired in 1993, after 20 years of service. Ike was currently Post Commander of the Mercer County VFW Post #1571 and a member of the Aledo American Legion, Falleran Post #121. 
 
Ike is survived by wife Cathy Diehl- Long; son, John David & Johanna Diehl of Phoenix, AZ; Siblings: Tony & Barb Huttenstine of Queen City, MO; Terry & Lisa Huttenstine of Laurinberg, NC and Beverly & Roy Carter of Monmouth. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Ronnie and George Huttenstine.
