Gayle Jean Pullen

Gayle J. Pullen, 81 of Aledo, died Thursday, August 22, 2024, at Aledo Rehab & Healthcare Center. Graveside services will be 12:00 PM on Saturday, August 24th at Greenmound Cemetery, Keithsbsurg, Illinois. Visitation is Saturday at the First Christian Church, Keithsburg, prior to services beginning at 10:00 AM. Memorials may be made to the Churches of Mercer County Food Pantry. Speer Funeral Home, Aledo is assisting the family. 

Gayle Jean was born on March 28, 1943, in Iowa City, Iowa to Bud & Lucille (Shaw) Askew. She married Don Pullen. He preceded her in death. Gayle enjoyed cooking and shared her talents at the Mercer County Senior Center, the Mercer County Hospital and the Family Restaurant in Aledo. In her spare time, she bowled, played cards and loved to fish. She cherished the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. Her family enjoyed her cooking, and always asked for her potato salad.

Those left to honor Gayle’s memory include her children: Theresa Boughton, Edward McIntyre, Edye & Kerry Beasley, Jim & Jenifer McIntyre, Chris & Craig Bishop and Many Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don; Grandchildren: Jamie Lynn Anderson and Bobby Tennant and siblings: George, Jerry, Dale, Jim, Leitha, Nancy and Betty.
