Eric Alan Zimmerman

Memorial services for Eric A. Zimmerman, 56 of New Boston, will be Saturday, October 20th at 10:00 AM at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo. There is no visitation. Memorials may be made to Mercer Foundation for Health.
Eric died Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at his home.

Eric Alan was born on September 6, 1962 in Moline, Illinois to Richard Allen & Louise “Liz” (Neal) Zimmerman. Eric was an outstanding mechanic and understood the squeaks and grinds of almost any car. He worked many places but most recently worked in his own shop, EZ’s Fixin’ Shop. He enjoyed being a father to his kids and loved being a grandpa. He enjoyed visiting with friends and family, working on cars, fishing, going out on the river, and taking care of his faithful companion, Max. Eric was previously married to Lisa Richter, Kathy Stokes and Susan Foster. He had the soul of a poet and could turn a phrase that would hit you in the heart. He was your shoulder to lean on when times were tough and a listening ear even when you were far away. He was a friend to almost all that knew him.

Eric is survived by his children and step children, and their spouses: Rusty & Audrey Lascelles-Zimmerman of Las Vegas, NV; Jennifer Zimmerman & companion, Brad Lingafelter of Aledo; Renee Sanders of New Boston; James Sanders & companion Emily Janisch of Chicago; J.R. & Shaleshia Munson of Arkansas; Mariel Foster of Virginia and Lars Foster-Cruz of Florida; Grandchildren: Ariana, Aiden, Ryleigh, Emma, Cailyn & Andrew; his parents: Richard & Liz of New Boston; Sisters: Linden & Tom Jensen of Orion; Liz & Dick Shurson of New Boston and Kristel Stopoulos of LeClaire, IA; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Styles and former wife, Lisa Richter.
