Donnie L. Kenney

Funeral services for Donnie L. Kenney, 84 of Lehigh Acres, Florida, formerly of Aledo, will be Friday at 11:00 AM at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo. Burial will be in Aledo Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday from 4 to 6 PM at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Landry’s Helping Heart Foundation. Donnie died on December 23, 2017 at the Douglas T. Jacobson State Veteran’s Home, Port Charlotte, Florida.

Donnie Leroy was born on September 8, 1933 in Joy, Illinois to Tom & Nellie (Fisher) Kenney. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1953 – 1956. Donnie married the former Priscilla “Pid” Litwiler Muhlenburg.

Donnie was an over the road truck driver. After retirement, he and Pid enjoyed their time in Florida, where he enjoyed bird watching. He was a member of the American Legion Post #121, Aledo.

Donnie is survived by his wife, Pid; children: Kay & Steve Johnson of Scottsdale, AZ; Jerry Kenney of Aledo; Natalie & Colin McKoewn of La Crosse, WI; Step-children: Kenney & Peach Muhlenburg, Odenville, AL; Robin & Dave Mital of Aledo and Tony & Sue Muhlenburg of Aledo; 13 grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and one expected; 3 step-great-grandchildren; brother, Daryl & Pat Kenney of Ohio; sister, Rosie Dillie of Spooner, WI and a sister-in-law, Sandra J. Kenney of Aledo. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Marty Kenney; sisters, Betty Dillie and Jackie Ward and Brothers, Bob and Emery Kenney.


Services are pending at this time and a full obituary will be online late Tuesday. His wife, Priscilla  "Pid", is among survivors.
