Donald L. Chrisman, 82 of Aledo, died Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Genesis Medical Center, Aledo. Open Visitation will be Saturday, January 30^th from 1 to 4 PM at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo. A Private family service will be held prior to visitation .  All COVID-19 precautions will be observed, and masks will be required. Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children. Donald Lee was born on July 7, 1938 in Fresno, California to Lee & Gwendolyn (Smith) Chrisman. He married Shirley Barnes Day on July 8, 1979, joining their two families.

Donald was a hard-working man, working as a general contractor in California before moving to Illinois. He loved to fly, having his pilot’s license, and flying model airplanes. Donald was always working, whether he was in his shop or outdoors in the yard, he liked to stay busy. He was a dedicated, loving family man with a heart of gold behind his tough exterior.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Shirley; children: Gary (Carol) Day of Aledo; Lisa (John) Day-Silva of Antioch, CA and Laurie Laidlow of Murray, KY; grandchildren: Shonda, Robert, Adam, Lacey (Sam), Kortney (Dan), Lisa (Marty); great-grandchildren: Devin (Destiny); Rocky (Megan); Kaycee (Delia); Allura (Kaleb), Zach, Kylie (Brady) and Allie; and 7 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Annette (Everett) Bonner of Fresno, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sons, Kenneth and Christopher; 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
