Brenda Sue Veloz

Brenda Sue Veloz, 62 of Viola, died unexpectedly on July 18, 2024, in Newton, Iowa while on a trip with her family. Private family services will be held. Memorials may be made to the Veloz family. Speer Funeral Home, Aledo is assisting the family.

Brenda was born on September 7, 1961, in Moline, Illinois to James & Delores (Richardson) Brown. She married Fred Veloz on November 5, 1991. Fred and Brenda enjoyed living and working in Arkansas before coming home to Mercer County. Brenda had worked as a CNA for many years.

Brenda was first and foremost a devoted mother and grandmother. She taught them everything they know, except how to go on without her. Brenda cherished the time she especially had with her grandchildren. She spoiled them and herself with her online shopping. She was a night owl who enjoyed crocheting, reading mysteries and smoking her cigarettes. Brenda wasn’t afraid to try new trends and currently was enjoying her pink hair and trying to decide which tattoo to get next. She loved to stay up late watching her true crime shows and talking to her mom on the phone.

Those left to cherish Brenda’s memory include her husband, Fred; mother, Delores Brown of Viola; children and spouses: Terri & Steve Stewart of Colona, IL; Randy & Kelly Garza of Des Moines, IA; Jason Garza of Omaha, NE; Ryan Veloz of Moline, IL; Nathen Veloz of Viola; Florentina Veloz of Rogers, AR; Fredrico & Joshua Veloz of Springdale, AR; Tabitha Veloz-Howell of Bentonville, AR; Tiffany & Raul Trejo of Rogers, AR; 32 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson and siblings: Carol Rusher and Danny Brown. She was preceded in death by her father, son-in-law, Mark Howell and sister, Connie Quinley and brother, Vernon Brown.
