Boyd L. Shaw, Sr.

Boyd L. Shaw, Sr., 69 of Keithsburg, died Friday, November 2, 2018 at OSF Medical Center, Peoria. Memorial services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM at the First Christian Church, Keithsburg, with fellowship immediately following the services. Memorials may be left to the Boyd Shaw Memorial Fund. Speer Funeral Home, Aledo is assisting the family.

Boyd Lane was born on September 15, 1949 in Rock Island to Clellon “Pete” & Georgia E. (McKinney) Shaw. He married Donna Hipkins on June 20, 1975 in Seaton, Illinois.

Boyd had been employed with John Deere and was also trained in HVAC. He truly enjoyed hunting and fishing and spent most of his time outdoors first with his brother, then with his sons and later in life, his grandsons. Boyd also owned River Rats Bait Shop in Keithsburg.

Those left to honor Boyd’s memory include his wife, Donna; sons and their wives: Bill & Mindy Shaw of Aledo; Boyd & Tiffany Shaw Jr. of Keithsburg; 5 Grandchildren: Buddy Shaw & Fiancé, Sam; Brett Shaw; Emma, Brendan & Rhyder Shaw. He was preceded in death by his parents; twin brother, Lloyd and a grandson, Jakob.
