Audrey Joan was born on July 11, 1934, in New Boston to Jack & Gracie Mary (Whitlow) Schell. She married Ronald K. Stineman on January 22, 1954, in Rock Island. He preceded her in death on July 30, 2018.
Audrey’s number one priority was always family. She was a loving and involved mother and grandmother. She cherished the time she had with each and every one of them. Audrey considered her birthday numbers 7 and 11 her lucky numbers. She played them often on the boat or at the Quad City Downs on the horses. And she won! She was also a very competitive card player and was proud to teach all her grandchildren how to play. Audrey’s talents didn’t stop at cards. She painted beautifully; oil and acrylic paintings, ceramics, made stained glass, and sewed clothes for her children and family. She also baked and decorated birthday and wedding cakes for her friends and family. Her abilities didn’t stop there, she was also a trained beautician and drove a school bus for many years for the Westmer School District.
In her spare time, Audrey loved to bowl and travel. She and Ronnie loved to go dancing. She was very active in her community and Mercer County. She served as treasurer for both the New Boston Methodist Church and the city of New Boston. She was grand Marshall of the Fish Fry parade and was voted Citizen of the year twice. She was also very involved in Crime Stoppers.
Audrey is survived by her children and spouses: Kim & Michael Bloxam of Palm Harbor, FL; Kathy Brislawn of New Boston; and Keith & Deb Stineman of New Boston; Grandchildren: Corey & Alyssa Bloxam; Emily & Andrew Goot; Jennifer Thompson; Jamie Peterson; Missy & Carl Carlson; Mandi & Mike Wilkens; Michelle & Evan Marston; Megan & Michael Sywassink; and Merri Stineman & Daniel Eggen; 20 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
