Graveside services for William Nelson Glydwell, Sr, 85 of East Moline will be Friday at 1:00 PM at the National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Friends are asked to gather at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline at 12:30 PM for the procession to the cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to a local Angel Tree. Speer Funeral Home, Aledo is assisting the family. Bill died on Thursday, November 25, 2010 at the Aledo Rehab and Healthcare Center. He was 1 of 5 children born to Earl & Estella (Mayfield) Glydwell. He was born on Dec. 27, 1924 in Milan, Missouri. Bill served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a great cook and enjoyed flea markets. He loved watching cowboy movies and reading western novels. Bill will be missed by many, including his family: a son, William, Jr. of Rock Island; daughter, Sandra Bivens of Phoenix, AZ; 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
