Karna Bloomberg Peterson

Karna (Bloomberg) Peterson died October 10, 2010 in Lincoln, Nebraska after a happy and fulfilling life. She was born July 14, 1935, in Moline, Illinois to Iverd B. and Alice (Peterson) Bloomberg. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from the University of Illinois, Urbana, where she was a member of Theta Sigma Phi and Gamma Alpha Chi honoraries. Her career in advertising copywriting was in Chicago and later Washington, D.C.. On June 8, 1958 she was married at Swedona Lutheran Church to Charles E. Peterson. He preceded her in death on November 10, 2007. She was a member of First Lutheran Church, Colonial Williamsburg Foundation and a Life Member of the University of Illinois Alumni Association. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law Kristin and Kurt Wulser, Lincoln, NE; son Bryan Peterson, Atlanta, GA., two granddaughters, Atlanta, GA; brother and his wife Gregory and Charlene Bloomberg, Canada. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Thursday at Swedona Lutheran Cemetery, Swedona, Illinois. Memorials may be made to Swedona Lutheran Church, 1943 Knoxville Road, Lynn Center, Illinois 61262.
