Carolyn L. Hanson

Carolyn L. Hanson, 64 of Aledo, died Thursday, October 20, 2016, at Genesis Senior Living, Aledo. Funeral services are Monday at 10:00 AM at The First Baptist Church, Aledo. Burial will be in Peniel Cemetery, Joy. Visitation is Sunday from 2 to 5 PM at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo. Memorials may be made to the Mercer County Music Boosters. Carolyn was born on December 20, 1951 in Davenport, Iowa to Clark & Lucille Fern (McCance) Sheesley. She married Thomas L. Hanson on August 22, 1971 in Cambridge, Illinois. He preceded her in death on January 22, 2009. Carolyn was a hairdresser for many years, serving her clients out of her home. She also loved cooking, sewing, gardening and listening to music, but was really known for her pie baking. Carolyn recently started painting and drawing again. She cherished her fishing trips with the cousins to Lake George in Minnesota. Carolyn’s memory will be cherished by her children: Cyndi & Chuck Luallen of Aledo; Jeff Hanson of Ohio and Katie Hanson (Robert Moran) of Aledo; Granddaughters: Ally and Rissa; Siblings: Don & Jan Sheesley of East Moline and Diane & Steve Reason of Buffalo Prairie. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
