Richard T. Lower

Funeral services for Richard T. Lower, 48 of Aledo, will be Wednesday at 2:00 PM at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo. Visitation is Tuesday from 4 to 8 PM at the funeral home. Private burial will be at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Richard Lower Memorial Fund. Rich died on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Genesis Medical Center, Aledo, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. Richard Thomas was born on May 23, 1968 to Thomas Wilson & Audrey Avis (Ferguson) Lower. He was a 1986 graduate of Aledo High School. Rich and Cindy Johnson were married in 1989. She preceded him in death on July 29, 2001. Rich was employed with Gett Industries, Milan. He also loved working on cars, his motorcyles, guns and race cars. He was a devoted family man, who loved his boys and was always helping take care of everyone, especially his Dad. Those left to cherish Rich’s memory include his sons: Zakary of Aledo, Dalton of Muscatine and Landon of Aledo; his parents: Tom & Avis Lower of Aledo; Siblings: Doug & Michelle Ferguson of New Boston; Vickie Miller and Chuck Lower of Aledo and best friend: D.J. Sheriff of Davenport.
