Roger L. Andress

Funeral services for Roger L. Andress, 65 of Aledo, will be Wednesday at 10:30 AM at the Aledo United Methodist Church. Burial with Military Honors will be in Aledo Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday from 4 to 7 PM at Speer Funeral Home. Memorials may be made in Roger’s name for a fund to be established later. Roger died on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at his home. Roger Lane was born on August 6, 1950 to Lyle M. & Aileen G. (Zimmerman) Andress. After graduating high school, he served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Roger was united in marriage to Jodie Anderson on July 26, 1975 in Keithsburg, Illinois. Roger was a Rural Postal Carrier, retiring on January 26, 2013. He also enjoyed raising cattle. Roger and Jodie enjoyed dancing and boating with family and friends. Those left to cherish Roger’s memory include his wife, Jodie; son, Jason of Aledo; daughter and her family: Linsey, Mike and Harper Warren of Davenport, IA; brother: Don (Marilyn) Andress of Illinois City; Aunts: Betty Bull of Rock Island and Lois Folck of Oshkosh, WI; sister-in-law: Connie (Jesse) Midkiff of Aledo and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family would like to thank Hospice Compassus for their compassion and care during Roger’s courageous battle with brain cancer.
