Eldon Wagner

Eldon Wagner, 84 of Eliza, died Sunday, March 19, 2006 at the Mercer County Nursing Home. Funeral Services will be Wednesday at 2:00 PM at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo. The Rev. Richard Bishop will officiate. Visitation is one hour prior to services. Burial will be at Edgington Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Mercer County Nursing Home. Eldon was born on September 17, 1921 in Eliza Township, Mercer County, Illinois to Albert F. & Gladys (Irwin) Wagner. He married Helen Taylor on February 22, 1941 in Muscatine, Iowa. Eldon was a member of the First Baptist church of Muscatine and was a lifelong resident of the Eliza area. Eldon retired in 1982 from HON Industry, Muscatine. He had previously worked for Eliza School as a bus driver, Kent Feeds in Muscatine, Deane Frye Construction Company, Aledo and was a farm hand for several area farmers. . Eldon is survived by his wife of 65 years, Helen; a grandson and his wife, Steven & Kristina Rossnagel; 2 great-grandchildren: Kaitlin & Kristopher Rossnagel all of Amarillo, Texas; and a sister-in-law, Lois McCormick of Aledo. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Eldon Eugene Wagner and daughter, Arlene Ann Rossnagel ; 2 sisters, Anker Marilyn Doermann and Lucille Wagner and step-father, Edgar Muchow.
