Christa M. Schroeder

Christa Schroeder, 57 of Sherrard, died peacefully March 30, 2009 at her sister’s home, surrounded by family and friends. A celebration of Christa’s life will be held in April. Memorials may be made to Trinity Pathway Hospice. Speer Funeral Home, Aledo is assisting the family. Christa Mary Jean was born January 30, 1952 in Davenport, Iowa to Chauncey Charles & Bernetta Jane (Malone) Haigh. She was previously married to Randy Schroeder. Christa embraced her Native American Heritage, enjoyed horseback riding, gardening and spending time with family and friends. She never met a stranger. Those left to cherish Christa’s memory include her sons: Buddy Worden and his wife, Donna of Arizona and Dax Schroeder of Sherrard; grandchildren: Christa & Willie Worden; a brother, Skip Haigh and wife, Shelley of Davenport; 3 sisters: Lisa Hildebrant of Long Grove, IA; Lynne Curry and husband, Marty of Dixon, IA and Kellee Ryan and husband, Richard of Sherrard; special friend, Paul Lloyd of Reynolds and extended family and friends, including: Randy Schroeder, Jeanne Schroeder and Dawn, Arlet, Faith and Kris with a K. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother-in-law.
