Ruth Arline Close

Funeral services for Ruth A. Close, 90 of Aledo, will be Tuesday at 2:00 PM at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo. Visitation is from Noon until the time of services on Tuesday. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Taylor Ridge. Memorials may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church. Ruth died on Thursday, November 26, 2015 at Genesis Medical Center, Aledo. Ruth Arline was born on June 21, 1925 in Buffalo Prairie Township to Emil & Minnie (Krantz) Ziegler. She was a 1944 graduate of Reynolds High School. Ruth married Joe Wyman Close on February 8, 1947 at the Zion Lutheran Church, Taylor Ridge. Joe preceded her in death on October 28, 2009. Ruth retired from Buffalo Prairie State Bank in 1991. She also helped her husband on the family farm. She enjoyed playing cards, going dancing with Joe, and wintering in Arizona. Ruth was a lifetime member of the Zion Lutheran Church. Those left to cherish Ruth’s memory include her children and spouses: Jim & Terry Close of Aledo and Sandy & Al Levenson of Paisley, FL; 4 grandchildren and their families: Chad & Merlyn Close of Dubuque; Brenda Close of Aledo; Shane & Leah Levenson & their children, Sawyer and Holden of Long Beach, MS and Jennifer & Kris Holmes and their children, Remington and Kolton of Branson, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and four brothers.
