Dave Duncan

Funeral Services for Dave Duncan, 85 of Aledo, will be Saturday at 11:30 AM at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo. Burial will be in Aledo Cemetery. Visitation is Saturday from 9 to 11 AM at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Aledo. Dave died on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at his home, surrounded by his family. Dave was born on November 4, 1930 in Duncan Township, Mercer County, Illinois to Floyd & Lula (McCormick) Duncan. He married Janice Castor on October 9, 1949 at the Antioch Baptist Church. Dave dedicated his life to agriculture, both farming and selling implements at Lafever & Duncan. He also raised livestock, Christmas Trees and Pumpkins. Dave and Janice enjoyed wintering in Texas and boating on the Mississippi with family and friends. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing in earlier years. Dave is survived by his wife of 66 years: Janice; 3 children and spouses: Phil Duncan & companion, Connie Lemon; Marjie & Jim Earl and Peggy & Steve Johnson, all of Aledo; a sister and brother-in-law: Frances & Rodney Boruff of Okawville, IL; 17 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and one lovingly expected. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Scott in 2012 and sisters: June Locke, Violet Locke and Betty Larson.
