William F. Parchert, Sr., 91 of Illinois City, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, January 18, 2009. He passed away at the Mercer County Hospital with his family by his side.
Funeral Services are Thursday at 10:30 AM at the Zion Lutheran Church, Taylor Ridge. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3 to 8 PM at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo. Memorials may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church or the Mercer County Home Health Care.
William was born on October 11, 1917 in Buffalo Prairie Township, the son of William Frederick & Louisa (Kadel) Parchert. He married Genevieve Schmidt on August 24, 1940 in Buffalo Prairie.
William was a life long farmer and member of Zion Lutheran Church. He loved to tell people about his Lord and Savior. He enjoyed gardening and woodworking. He retired from the Rockridge School District both as Bus Driver and Custodian.
William is survived by his wife of 68 years, Genevieve; 3 sons and their spouses: Bill & Marilyn of Illinois City; Ron & fiancé, Carol Howell of Taylor Ridge and Paul & Lucinda of Illinois City; 9 grandchildren and spouses: Sherri & Kevin Ihms; Bill & Deanna Parchert, III; Jim Parchert; Mike & Amy Bower; Lynn & Jason Gilroy; Brett Parchert; Beth & Ken Vroman; Justin Parchert and Abby Parchert & fiancé Kyle Deppert;13 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; a sister: Ruby Sallows of Cordova; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law: Mary Jeanne Parchert of Reynolds, Judy Bieri of Illinois City; Eileen Bivens and Pauline Schmidt, both of Aledo and Jake & Virginia Padesky of Moline and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers, Maynard, Carl, Everett & Ralph Parchert; twin sisters and a brother in infancy and 10 brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
