Lois Jackson, 91 of Aledo, died Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Seminary Manor, Galesburg. Funeral Services are Wednesday at 10:00 AM at the Aledo United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Peniel Cemetery, Joy, Illinois. Visitation is Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo. Memorials may be made to the New Boston Cemetery. Lois Pauline Riley was born on January 10, 1924 in New Boston, IL to William & Jessie Pearl (Diehl) Riley. She married Delmar L. Jackson on April 17, 1949 in Joy, Illinois. He preceded her in death on February 25, 2000. Lois was a dedicated teacher, having taught at both the Pin Oak Country School and New Boston Elementary School, retiring in 2004. Prior to teaching she was a telephone operator in Aledo. Lois was a member of the Aledo United Methodist Church and the women’s association within the church. She was also a member of the Willing Workers Club. Lois was affectionately known as “Grandma Sosa” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, which co-insides with her love for the Chicago Cubs. She enjoyed going out to eat with friends and taking her daily walks. Those left to cherish Lois’ memory include her sons and daughter’s-in-law: Bradley & Becky Jackson of Alpha and Barry & Kim Jackson of New Windsor; Grandchildren: Chad & Chas Jackson; Brandon Jackson; Megan & Maurice Jones; Erica & Scott Biddle; Garrett Jackson and Brooke Jackson; Step-grandchildren: Courtney & Carley Whitsell; and great-grandchildren: Austin, Cody, Hunter, Juliann Pearl, Shelton, Kinsey, Kylie, Alexis & Morgan. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Morgan Jackson and brothers, Clair and Theron Riley.
