Paul E. Price

Paul E. Price, 84 of Aledo, died Thursday, February 19, 2015 at Aledo Rehab & Healthcare Center. Funeral services will be Monday at 11:00 AM at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo. Burial will be in Edgington Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday from 2 to 5 PM at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the College Avenue Presbyterian Church or Aledo Rehab & Healthcare Center. Paul was born on February 17, 1931 in Duncan Township, Mercer County, Illinois to Paul L. & Grace E. (Long) Price. He married Mary Hofer on January 19, 1952 in Edgington. Paul farmed in Duncan Township and retired as the Maintenance Supervisor at the Mercer County Nursing Home in 1996. He was a member of the College Avenue Presbyterian church. Paul was a hardworking man who took pride in his work and enjoyed the fruits of his labor. He also enjoyed fishing, playing cards and dancing with Mary. Those left to cherish Paul’s memory include his wife of 63 years, Mary; 5 children and spouses: Stephen Price of Aledo; Gary & Donna Price of Reynolds; Duane & Candace Price of Aledo; Linda & Ken Hoffman of Bettendorf and Flint & Lisa Price of Aledo; grandchildren: Shellie, Julie, Evan, Margo, Britni, Kylie, Lindsay, Kellie & Kristyn; great-grandchildren: Andrew, Jake, Emma, Alex, Vance, Brady, Katherine, Georgia, Judah, Gabriella and one lovingly expected. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, William Price; granddaughter, Heather Price; great-grandson, Ezra Ivey and a sister-in-law, Hazel Jaecques.
