Dylan R. "Pickles" Smith

Services for Dylan R. “Pickles” Smith, 23 of Aledo, will be Monday at 11:00 AM at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation is Sunday from 2 to 5 PM at Speer Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Dylan Smith Memorial Fund. Dylan died on Thursday, August 28, 2014. Dylan was born on August 19, 1991 in Aledo to Darren Smith & Sally (Roberts) Smith. He loved to work on cars and was the #32 Demo Car known to many. He also loved to hunt, fish and spend time with friends. Dylan was always there to help anyone, was very outgoing and willing to try anything. Those left to cherish Dylan’s memory include his mother & step-father: Sally & Derek Erickson; father & step-mother: Darren & Kim Smith, all of Aledo; Siblings: Darrick Smith & friend, Elizabeth Kendall; David Smith; both of Aledo and twin sister, Dana & husband, Nick Bernhart of Joy; Step-siblings: Kyle & Bryce Erickson of Rockford; Heather & Mike Kurtenbach of East Moline; Amanda & Steve Pervis of Coal Valley; Nieces & Nephews: Halle, Cleo, Quentin, Gaven, Kylee, Madison and Ethan. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Richard & Marilyn Smith and Bert & Charlotte Roberts; Uncle, David Smith and Cousin, Alex Roberts.
