Marjorie L. Taylor

Funeral services celebrating the life of Marjorie L. Taylor, 82 of Aledo, will be Monday at 10:00 AM at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo. Burial will be in Viola Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday from 3 to 5 PM at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Messiah Lutheran Church, Aledo. Marjorie died on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Rosewood Care Center, Moline. Marjorie was born on May 14, 1931 to Tracy & Dorothy (Johnson) Morris. She was a 1949 graduate of Aledo High School. On January 16, 1954 she was united in marriage to David Taylor at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church, Aledo. He preceded her in death on December 21, 1992. Marjorie was a dedicated homemaker and devoted grandmother. She enjoyed reading, traveling and gardening in earlier years. She was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church. Those left to cherish Marjorie’s memory include her children and spouses: Nancy Taylor of East Moline; Joe & Kathy Taylor of Hampton and Rev. Ronald & Jodi Taylor of Gladstone, MO; grandchildren: James Taylor; John & Nicole Taylor and Jessica Taylor; 2 sisters and brothers-in-law: Eleanor & Louis Lloyd and Martha & Elden Cirks all of Aledo. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, David.
