Beverly B. Johnson

Beverly B. Johnson, 85 of Aledo, passed away quietly on Saturday, January 19, 2008 at the Mercer County Nursing Home where she has resided for the past year. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 7 PM at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo. Graveside services are being planned for Saturday, January 26, 2008 in Joliet, IL, in Woodlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Center Presbyterian Church, Seaton or the Mercer County Nursing Home. The former Beverly Joann Becker was born October 11, 1922 in Champaign, IL the daughter of Dorothy Houtz Becker and John H. Becker. She married Virgil L. Johnson at Patterson Wright Air Field in Dayton, OH on February 10, 1944. He preceded her in death in 2005. Beverly was Program Coordinator in the USDA Office in Aledo for over 30 years. She was quite active in the Seaton and Aledo Communities. She served numerous positions in the Center Presbyterian Church, was a scout leader and a member of Business & Professional Women’s Organization and Doll Club. Her love for antiques was evident with her lovely dolls, vintage clothing and unique collections. Surviving are her children, Terry Lee Pelletier, Batavia, IL and Judy West (Stan Harrison), Aledo; 5 granddaughters; 2 grandsons; 4 great-grandsons and two brothers, Jack (Doris) Becker, Joliet and Radleigh (Susan) Becker, Madison, WI.
