Janice P. Salmon

Memorial services for Janice P. Salmon, 82 of Aledo, will be Saturday, January 12, 2007 at 1:00 PM at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo. Inurnment will be in Aledo Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Janice P. Salmon memorial fund. Janice died on December 17, 2007 at Aledo Rehab and Healthcare Center. Janice was born on March 31, 1925 in Millville, New Jersey to William M. and Mary J. (Robinson) Simpkins. She married Orvill Lee Salmon on Aug.19, 1945 in Medford, NJ. He preceded her in death in 1985. Janice was a member of the former Open Bible Church. She was a devoted homemaker who enjoyed taking care of children and was also a foster parent. Janice is survived by 2 daughters, Kathy (Bill) Rogers of Lawrenceville, NJ and Polly Salmon of Seaton, and foster son Carl (Cheryl) Whitby of Independence, MO, and son-in-law Daniel Huston of Keithsburg; 6 grandchildren, Bryan and Jason Huston and Joann Salmon, Chris, Curtis, and Craig Whitby; Great-grandchildren, Addison, Ruby, and Connor; a brother, James Simpkins of New Jersey. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Robin Huston; sisters, Norma Simcox, Kathryn Small, Gertrude Piper, and a brother, LeRoy Simpkins.
