Jacqueline I. Hodgson, 73 of Aledo, died Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at the Mercer County Hospital, Aledo. Graveside services will be held on Monday, Oct. 22, 2007 at 10:00 AM at the Aledo Cemetery. A time of fellowship will follow services at College Avenue Presbyterian Church, Aledo. A Memorial has been established in Jackie’s name for Serenity Hospice. Jackie was born on August 30, 1934 in Monmouth, Illinois to John W. and Lillian (Milam) Murphy, Jr. In 1953 she married James Sturgill. She married Daniel Wayne Hyett in 1957. He preceded her in death in 1966. She married Ernest Hodgson in 1981. He preceded her in death in 1987. Jackie was employed with various restaurants in the area. She was a member of the Mercer County Farm Bureau and a former member of the College Avenue Presbyterian Church. She was an active volunteer with the American Red Cross Blood Drive and was a 25 gallon donor herself. In earlier years she was a flutist with the Tri-City Symphony Orchestra. Jackie was an avid reader and loved music. She enjoyed her faithful companions, Bebe and Buddy. Jackie is survived by her 5 children and their spouses: Douglas Sturgill of Aledo, Lynn Frost of Tavares, FL, Kimberly & Brian Mendonca of Leander, TX, Sandria and Robert J. Fippinger of Mingo, IA and Daniel and Jazan Hyett II of Aledo; a sister, Janet Willits of Aledo; 12 grandchildren: Arran Keller, David and Tyler Sturgill, Daniel Hyett III , Jennifer Geisinger, Jason Bollinger, Anthony and Alex Fippinger, Michael and Jacqueline Castillo and Travis and Austin Mendonca; and 11 great-grandchildren: Corbin David Sturgill; Trevor, Robbie, Chelsea, Jonathon and Tyler Keller; Mariah Gaines; Malia and Ava Bollinger and Karissa and Kayla Geisinger. Jackie was preceded in death by her parents and husbands, Wayne Hyett and Ernest Hodgson.
