Ruth Marlow, 87 of Aledo, formerly of LaPrairie, Il died Thursday, September 20, 2007 at the Mercer County Nursing Home. Funeral Services will be Monday at 1:00 PM at the Hamilton Funeral Home, Augusta, IL. Rev. Dixie Croxton will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Horeb Cemetery near LaPrairie, IL. Visitation will be held from 11 to 1 on Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Elm Grove Methodist Church or the Mt. Horeb Cemetery.
Ruth was born on January 1, 1920 near Clayton, IL to Jacob Francis and Kennethina Edith (Noelsch) Perry. She married Wilson E. Marlow on August 3, 1938 in Palmyra, MO. He preceded her in death on July 26, 2003.
Ruth started school in 1926 with her father as her teacher. She graduated from 8th grade in 1933 with the highest grade in the township. She attended High School in Timewell and Chandlerville. She was a homemaker and attended the Elm Grove Methodist Church. She was also employed at the Golden Good Shepherd Home and Dennis Chicken Products of Augusta.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Louise Hedrick of Aledo, IL and Shirley Ann Marlow of Burbank, CA; two grandsons, Michael (Mary) Hedrick of New Boston, IL and Paul (Kay) Hedrick of Aledo, IL; Seven great-grandchildren: Matthew, Christopher, Brandon, Kendell and Jayke Hedrick, Kristina Carruthers and Kourtney Grady; 2 great-great-grandsons, Darius Grady and Jackson Carruthers.
Ruth was preceded in death by two sons, Harold and Carroll Marlow; a granddaughter, Terri Hedrick; a sister, Helen Guenther and three brothers, Jacob, Bill and Ernest Perry.
