Monte Lee Thornton

Monte Lee Thornton, 52 of Millersburg, died Thursday, December 1, 2011 at his home. Memorial Services are Saturday, December 3rd at 2:00 PM at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Millersburg. Memorials may be made to the Millersburg Cemetery. Monte was born on November 5, 1959 in Aledo, Illinois to Edwin & Verlee (Pearson) Thornton. He graduated from Spoon River College with an Associates in Diesel Mechanics. Monte lived and worked on the families Centennial Farm in Millersburg Township. He also previously worked for Frye Builders. He was a talented musician and enjoyed playing the guitar. Monte is survived by his mother, Verlee Thornton of Aledo; sisters and brothers and their spouses: Terri Thornton & Rick Zies and her son, Zach Jakobs of Kenosha, WI; Donna & Richard Stone of Milan and Butch Blaser, Alice Jo & J.W. Dellitt, Michael Blaser and Steve & JoAnn Blaser all of Aledo; and many other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Blaser in infancy and a sister, Pat Stone.
