Verle Alton Heck

Memorial Services, for Verle Alton Heck, 74 of Tulsa, Oklahoma, formerly of Mercer & Warren Counties, will be Saturday at 2:00 PM at the Speer Funeral Home, Aledo. Military Honors will be given by the Mercer County VFW Post #1571. Verle died on Sunday, July 15, 2007 at Clair Hospice House in Tulsa. Verle was born on November 16, 1932 in Little York, IL to Garrett & Lurene (Kramer) Heck. He married Mary Haynes on September 20, 1991 in Tulsa, OK. He enjoyed his career of over the road trucking. He was employed for over 40 years with Malone Freightlines of Birmingham, Alabama. In earlier years he worked with horses, shoeing and showing, but had a love for all animals. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Survivors include his wife, Mary of Tulsa; 3 children: Verline Wade and Mike Heck, of Chillicothe, MO and Wes Heck of Norfolk, NE; 14 step-children; 12 grandchildren; 15 step-grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and one lovingly expected; 4 brothers, Harry of Texas; Larry of Aledo, IL; Garrett Lee of Missouri; Charles “Bud” of Chicago, IL; Sisters: Beverly of Galesburg,IL and Brenda of Rio, IL and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Blaine & Leroy.
