Keith M. King

Keith King, 88 of Aledo, died Sunday, August 21, 2011 at the Mercer County Nursing Home. Services will be Thursday at 10:00 AM at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo. Burial will be in Hamlet Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday from 5 to 7 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Hamlet Cemetery. Keith Milo King was born on September 2, 1922 in Muscatine, Iowa to Stacey & Velma (Fowler) King. He was raised and educated in the New Boston area. He married Wilma Jean Sheese on January 8, 1944 in Muscatine, Iowa. Together they raised their family on their farm north of Aledo. Wilma preceded Keith in death on March 10, 1984. Keith farmed side by side with his brothers until his retirement at age 67. He was previously married to Jean Long. Survivors include his four children and their spouses: Sharon & Roger Bledsoe; Kenneth & Karen King and Larry “Butch” & Carol King all of Aledo and Carole Smith of Avon, Indiana; 12 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren and one lovingly expected; three brothers and their wives: Warren King, Wayne & Martha King, all of Aledo and Aubrey & Martha King of New Boston; and three sisters: Muriel Carey of Aledo; Maxine Stegall of Joy and Audrey Giberson and her husband, Jim of New London, Iowa. Keith was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Wilma; two brothers: Earl (in infancy) and Alfred and a great-grandson, Landry Albertson.
