Shirley P. Hampton

Shirley Hampton, 74 of Millersburg, died Saturday at the Mercer County Hospital. Graveside services will be Tuesday at 1:00 PM at Aledo Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the ALS Association or to the family. Speer Funeral Home, Aledo, is assisting the family. Shirley Pauline was born on April 4, 1937 in Davenport, Iowa to Revilo John & Anna Katharine (Zeitler) Cleveland. She married David Hampton on August 2, 1959 at the Taylor Ridge United Methodist Church. He preceded her in death on April 4, 2011. Shirley enjoyed bird watching, tending her flowers and gardening. She was a home healthcare worker for many years and also worked for Hays Refrigeration prior to retirement. Shirley is survived by her children and their spouses: Paul & Jolene Hampton of Joy; Marie & Paul Thompson of Norwood; 3 granddaughters: Sabrina, Shannon & Nikole and a sister: Rosemary Woodbury of Colona, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
