Yvonne Thompson Feehery

Yvonne Thompson Feehery, 92 of Aledo, died Sunday, July 17, 2011 at the Mercer County Nursing Home. Memorial services will be Friday, July 22nd at 10:00 AM at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church, Aledo. Memorials may be left to the Aledo Senior Citizens Center or Mercer County Nursing Home. Speer Funeral Home, Aledo, is assisting the family. Yvonne Helen Lewis was born on August 6, 1918 in Pickett, Wisconsin to Bayard & Marguerite (Pinch) Lewis. She married Thomas E. Thompson and from this union 6 children were born. He preceded her in death. She also married Carl Zimmerman and Joseph T. Feehery, both preceding Yvonne in death. Yvonne was a member of the St. Catherine’s Catholic Church, Aledo; the American Legion Auxilliary of Matteson, Illinois and the Matteson Historical Society. She enjoyed the many friendships and her time spent at the Aledo Senior Citizens Center. Yvonne also enjoyed sewing, gardening, birdwatching and traveling. Those left to cherish Yvonne’s memory include her children and their spouses: Lee & Barbara Thompson of Cosco, MI; Wayne & Judi Thompson of Hendersonville, TN; Joyce Hughes of Las Vegas, NV; Tom & Kim Thompson of Island Lake, IL; Susan & Greg Nourie of Donovan, IL and Neal & Antonine Thompson of Aledo; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands and 2 sisters: Beatrice Leisch and Eloise Sagle; a son-in-law: Doug Hughes and a step-daughter, Carol Jean Thompson.
