Kenneth L. Fuller, 75 of Aledo, died Sunday, March 20, 2011 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria. Services will be Friday at 1:00 PM at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo. Burial will be in Aledo Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the Mercer County VFW Post #1571. Visitation is Thursday from 4 to 7 PM at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Mercer County YMCA or the Mercer County Hospital.
Kenneth was born on November 7, 1935 in Mercer Township to Robert W. & Nora A. (Gillespie) Fuller. He was an Aledo High School and University of Illinois Graduate. Kenneth served in the United States Navy from 1956 – 1958, and the Naval Reserves for 30 years. He was previously married to the former Martha Pahl.
Kenneth dedicated his life to farming and raising livestock. He began raising Angus cattle in high school and continued until retiring in 2007. He was also previously an Assistant Farm Advisor for Knox County and with Federal Land Bank and Critic Feed Co.
Kenneth enjoyed his friendships throughout his life, especially those throughout the farming and Angus Cattle associations and the naval reserves.
Kenneth is survived by his son: Kevin Fuller of Decatur; former spouse and caretaker: Martha Fuller of Aledo; siblings and spouses: Lavern & Patricia Fuller of Aledo and Linda & Bruce Reynolds of Normal and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
